My hope that by Google realizing a new open source mobile platform that it will change how mobile phones are produced and distributed. To me it seems Google is not trying to directly compete with the iPhone but diminish the iPhone market by making the mobile platform more open and more competitive. How you ask? Well by giving all phone makers the ability to get a hold of a quality, free mobile OS platform that can compete with the apple iPhone, its only a matter of time before the market has a dozen or so Phones that can do what the iPhone can do, better, faster, cheaper and with more style. Open source rules.
